The requirements are as follows: Fee waiver The RISD wants to ensure that application fees are not a barrier for students. If you meet certain requirements, you can request a fee waiver for the common application. You can apply for a common application exemption in two ways: After extensive research and discussion, it has been demonstrated that the RISD assignment requirement acts as a barrier for applicants and is in direct contradiction to the RISD Action Plan for Social Justice and Inclusion. Students interested in our architecture program are strongly encouraged to complete a sequence of courses in mathematics (including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry) and one year of natural sciences (preferably physics). Please keep an eye out for all important deadlines. Applications for financial support will be assessed on the basis of funds available after the deadline. Scholarships and assistant positions are offered to all registered doctoral students. There is no such application process to receive these services. For applicants who have studied at an institution where English is the language of instruction, the language test requirement may be waived. You must send an email to the admissions@risd.edu admissions office to explain your educational background and determine if you qualify for an exemption. Some Advanced Placement (AP), A-Level, and International Baccalaureate (IB) credits can be used for RISD liberal arts requirements. First-year students can transfer a maximum of nine credits from AP courses with a score of 4 or 5, from A-level grades with a grade of C or higher, or from higher IB grades of 5, 6 or 7. RISD does not accept AP or IB credits for art or studio classes.

View RISD`s full credit transfer policy. You cannot apply to both the RISD and Brown if you take advantage of the advance ruling deadline. If you wish, you can only apply to one school for an advance decision. If you do, you can apply to the second school for the regular decision period. Alternatively, you can apply to both schools for the appropriate deadline for regular decision. You will use the same brown| Response to the RISD Dual Degree complementary test in both applications. Each school publishes its decision separately. Then Brown| RISD Dual Degree decisions arrive at the end of March.

Drawing is a fundamental tool for visual creators, from initial concept to execution, so it`s helpful for reviewers to see examples of your experience and approach to drawing. Graduate programs in architecture, furniture design, ceramics, industrial design, textile, printmaking, and painting are available at RISD. Applicants must provide official transcripts of all secondary academic work during the most recent assessment period. If your university degrees are not written in English, they must be translated into English by a certified translator before being submitted.
